Fluoroscope

A fluoroscope is a specialized technology that provides real time x-ray images that assist the doctor during procedures such as guided injections, vertebroplasty and placement of spinal cord stimulators and intrathecal pumps.

Cadwell EMG (Electromyography) and NCS

An EMG is a diagnostic tool used to determine the health of the nerves that control our muscles (motor neurons). By translating the electrical signals into data such as graphs sounds or numbers, the EMG will provide an assessment of the effectiveness of the neurons and their ability to make our muscles contract. During a needle EMG, a needle electrode inserted directly into a muscle records the electrical activity in that muscle. EMG results can reveal nerve dysfunction, muscle dysfunction or problems with nerve-to-muscle signal transmission.

A Nerve Conduction Study (NCS) is another part of an EMG, uses electrodes taped to the skin (surface electrodes) to measure the speed and strength of signals traveling between two or more points.

Cadwell Electroencephalogram (EEG)

An EEG is a diagnostic test used to detect abnormalities in the the electrical activity of your brain. brain waves, or the electrical activity of your brain. For the procedure, electrodes consisting of small metal discs with thin wires are pasted onto your scalp. These electrodes can detect tiny electrical charges that result from the activity of your brain cells and help identify any issues with your brain waves by interpreting the data compiled during the test.

Ultrasound

An Ultrasound is a diagnostic tool that uses high-frequency sound waves to view issues with deeper tissues, veins and organs without needing surgery.

It can also be used as a treatment modality to treat pain conditions and to promote tissue healing. Ultrasound therapy may be beneficial for those with the following conditions:

  • Osteoarthritis
  • Sprains and strains
  • Bursitis
  • Myofascial pain
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Pain caused by scar tissue
  • Phantom limb pain

Nystagmogram

The nystagmogram is used during to diagnose potential balance and dizziness concerns. This tool is designed to document a patient’s ability to follow simple visual commands and to see how well the eyes respond to vestibular information. Testing both visual function as well as vestibular function allows our doctors to address each patient’s functionality and to create an effective treatment plan.

PRP Centrifuge

A PRP centrifuge is used to harvest the patient’s own platelets, which are then concentrated for optimal healing. Prior to the patient’s procedure, a small sample of blood is drawn, which is then placed in a specialized centrifuge that will separate and concentrate the patient’s own natural healing agents.

Digital X-ray

Digital x-rays reduce the amount of radiation needed as compared to film x-rays. The improved diagnostic capability of digital x-rays and the ability to view the x-rays on a computer screen allow the patient to better understand and follow treatment. Digital x-rays are instant, there is no longer a need to develop the film. Digital x-rays save time and increase patient care. It’s also a very green technology. By eliminating film, developer and chemical waste it is better for you and the environment!

Full Stories Of Why
Clients Are Satisfied With Our Treatments

Dr. Turok spent the time to discuss my condition and provided alternative ways to try to treat the condition.  He was very knowledgeable. He and his staff were very friendly.   I would highly recommend this practice. This a follow up to my previous post. Six weeks ago I had PRP treatment for hemifacial spasm and blepharospasm for the left side of my face.  I had been suffering for almost 18 months with this condition. The one treatment gave me 75% improvement with my condition.   I had a second treatment today and hope this is as good as the first. For those who have tried other treatments I highly recommend trying the PRP with Dr. Turok.

I have been recovering from plantar fasciitis and ankle pain for multiple years following multiple basketball injuries and decided to try out Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy a couple of weeks ago. Plantar fasciitis takes a while to recover, so on paper, injecting platelet cells directly into the area will promote healing and speed up this lengthy recovery process so I can get back to my favorite activities as fast as possible. Sure enough, a couple of days after the PRP injection my foot started feeling better. The inflammation has drastically decreased and a lot of pain has gone away. Now, two weeks after the procedure, the foot is still feeling great! Dr. Turok recommends resting the area for 6 weeks after the procedure, so I can only project my injury getting better. Overall, my experience at Connecticut Pain Solutions has been very pleasant. The staff is very friendly and Dr. Turok himself is very knowledgeable and experienced in his practice. The procedure is very quick and painless, so I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to try out new things that might help them during their recovery!

I'm 101 years old and have been in chronic pain in my back and hip for years. I have tried every medication and procedure that has been recommended to me. The only treatment that has given me meaningful relief is the PRP injection provided by Dr. Turok. I am extremely thankful for the relief I am currently experiencing.
