What is Hormone Replacement Therapy?

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) with pellets provides a natural alternative using bio-identical hormones tailored to individual needs. Administered under the skin, these plant-based hormones release consistently, addressing age-related hormone declines. Symptoms like fatigue, mood swings, and reduced libido might suggest a hormone imbalance. HRT also assists with thyroid issues and can reduce risks of certain diseases. At Connecticut Pain Solutions, our experts prioritize root-cause treatments. Book a free consultation in Wallingford or Ridgefield.

What is Hormone Replacement Therapy?

Hormone Replacement Therapy with pellets is a natural alternative to synthetic hormone replacement therapies. With bio-identical hormones, the structure of the hormones - testosterone, estrogen or both - is matched to the individual patient's needs. Bio-identical hormones are natural, plant based substances that metabolize in our bodies the way nature intended.

How does it work?

During the sterile procedure, the practitioner applies a local anesthetic, makes a small incision and inserts the pellets into fatty tissues under the skin. The insertion is then closed without any need for stitches.

The pellets release testosterone or estrogen into the bloodstream based on cardiac output, in other words, due to increased physical activity or emotional stress (good or bad). This steady stream of hormones helps keep the symptoms such as mood and energy fluctuations at bay.

Subcutaneous (under the skin) pellets have been used to treat hormone imbalance since the 1930s, and research consistently shows bio-identical hormone replacement therapy with pellet implants is the superior method to deliver hormones in both men and women.

Who can benefit from bio-identical hormone replacement therapy?

As we age, testosterone, estrogen and progesterone naturally decline over time. Around age 35, men experience a gradual reduction in testosterone, typically 2 to 10 percent per year. For women, pre-menopause may start as early as in the 30s. In fact, often hormone imbalance kicks in long before hot flashes do - by 10 to 15 years!

Patients need to listen to their bodies. Is the body saying, "I feel a bit off?" In other words, do they feel like many men and women in their 30s, 40s and beyond who.....

  • lack motivation and feel more tired than usual
  • Gain weight for no reason - especially belly fat!
  • Experience mood swings more frequently
  • Feel anxious and depressed
  • Struggle with brain fog and insomnia
  • Wonder why their sexual desire and libido have tapered off

If these symptoms sound familiar, the patient may be an excellent candidate for Hormone Replacement Therapy. So, how can you find out for sure? Speak to one of our health care professionals who specialize in Hormone Replacement Therapy!

Full Stories Of Why
Clients Are Satisfied With Our Treatments

Dr. Turok spent the time to discuss my condition and provided alternative ways to try to treat the condition.  He was very knowledgeable. He and his staff were very friendly.   I would highly recommend this practice. This a follow up to my previous post. Six weeks ago I had PRP treatment for hemifacial spasm and blepharospasm for the left side of my face.  I had been suffering for almost 18 months with this condition. The one treatment gave me 75% improvement with my condition.   I had a second treatment today and hope this is as good as the first. For those who have tried other treatments I highly recommend trying the PRP with Dr. Turok.

I have been recovering from plantar fasciitis and ankle pain for multiple years following multiple basketball injuries and decided to try out Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy a couple of weeks ago. Plantar fasciitis takes a while to recover, so on paper, injecting platelet cells directly into the area will promote healing and speed up this lengthy recovery process so I can get back to my favorite activities as fast as possible. Sure enough, a couple of days after the PRP injection my foot started feeling better. The inflammation has drastically decreased and a lot of pain has gone away. Now, two weeks after the procedure, the foot is still feeling great! Dr. Turok recommends resting the area for 6 weeks after the procedure, so I can only project my injury getting better. Overall, my experience at Connecticut Pain Solutions has been very pleasant. The staff is very friendly and Dr. Turok himself is very knowledgeable and experienced in his practice. The procedure is very quick and painless, so I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to try out new things that might help them during their recovery!

I'm 101 years old and have been in chronic pain in my back and hip for years. I have tried every medication and procedure that has been recommended to me. The only treatment that has given me meaningful relief is the PRP injection provided by Dr. Turok. I am extremely thankful for the relief I am currently experiencing.
